Event Top Shop 2009 announced

A new event has been announced in our RSVP Coyote System!

The event is labeled 'Top Shop 2009' and we are currently accepting signups for this event.

MRJT volunteers needed to host the Timed Trail Run for the Top Shop Challenge at Hannibal Rocks on Saturday 10-17-09.

The Timed Trail Run is an event where built rockcrawling rigs race as fast as they can through a Rock Quarry course for the fastest time. It's a very fast pace event that gets the driver & spotters adrenaline pumping!! Not to mention the crowd too!
MRJT has the best seat in the house, cuz we are standing at the start and finish line recording times and yelling.....3, 2, 1 GO and then at the finish line yelling STOP and getting their final times. Members will also be scattered throughout the whole course with walkie talkies to make sure they don't hit cones or that anything falls out of their rig, etc. We'll also need a couple recovery vehicles on hand as well.
msg from Debbie (owners of Hannibal Rocks):
MRJT has made the Rockrace/Timed Run a very professional stage of Top Shop that all of the competitors look forward to. We appreciate your participation and support of our park and its' events.

Times & Itenarary to be determined as it approaches.
Please post here if you are interested in volunteering. (must be a MRJT member to volunteer)
You can request a certain position, but BOD will assign all positions in a separate post in the Members Only section.
If your wanting the Start or Finish position, u must be able to yell VERY LOUD over the loud rigs.

Free primitave camping and free entry to the park for those who volunteer. If you are not volunteering, you must pay normal park and spectator fees. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Volunteers are encouraged to wear a red MRJT t-shirt. If you don't have one, one will be provided for you.(depending on what sizes we have left).

Back by popular demand.......CHILI!!!!! After our event is over........be sure to stop by the MRJT tent for some FREE chili. That's right folks......FREE CHILI!! All we ask is that you bring side items such as crackers, cheese, onions, fritos....etc. We could also use some desserts as well. Bring a chair and your own drinks.

More info and details will be added to this original post as it becomes available.

If camping is not for you, here's a link of hotels in the Hannibal area Click Here for Lodging You can also make it a day trip.

The park is 5 miles south of Hannibal, MO on Hwy 61.
Mapquest directions of the park entrance:
State Hwy O and Hwy 61
New London, MO

If you haven't been to a Top Shop event, you need to mark your calendar so you don't miss this event!!
Local 4wd shops will enter 3 rigs each to determine which shop is the TOP SHOP.
Saturday: Mud Bog, Technical Trial Challenge, Timed Trail Run
Sunday: Truck Sled Pull, Rockcrawl Challenge

Click here to watch short video one of our sponsors, Axelboy, going through Timed Run Event (The course was run differently last year.
